What cookies and browser storage are
Cookies are small values a website stores through your browser and sends with later requests. Local storage and session storage let a site keep data in your browser without attaching it to every request. Session storage usually lasts for the current tab, while cookies and local storage can remain longer.
Essential cookies
KickerGames uses secure, HTTP-only session cookies to keep signed-in users and administrators authenticated. If Google or Facebook sign-in is configured and you choose it, we also use a short-lived signed cookie to protect the sign-in flow against tampering. Blocking these cookies can prevent sign-in and account features from working.
Local storage
We currently use local storage to:
- Keep recently played games on your device, including a local cache for a signed-in account.
- Remember a random browser identifier used to save and retrieve your like or dislike for a game.
You can clear recent-game history through KickerGames where that control is available. Clearing site data in your browser removes these local records and can reset the reaction identifier.
Session storage
When you start a game, session storage keeps a random identifier for gameplay events in that browser tab. This helps group limited first-party events such as start, completion, game over, and play duration without using your account identity for that gameplay session.
Preferences and authentication
Browser storage supports the current recent-game and game-reaction features. Authentication cookies support accounts. KickerGames does not currently use a separate cookie to save the sidebar state or other visual preferences.
Analytics
Current gameplay analytics are sent directly to KickerGames and use the tab identifier described above. We do not currently set third-party analytics cookies. If additional analytics services or non-essential cookies are introduced, this policy and any required controls will be updated.
Advertising
The current site includes reserved advertising locations but does not load a third-party advertising network through them. KickerGames does not currently set advertising cookies. If advertising technology that uses cookies or similar identifiers is added, we will describe it here and provide choices where required.
Third-party and embedded games
Games can run in an iframe and may be delivered from another host. A third-party game may use cookies or browser storage independently from KickerGames. Those technologies are controlled by the game provider and are covered by its own policies. Browser privacy settings may let you block third-party storage, but doing so can affect a game.
Your browser controls
Most browsers let you view, delete, or block cookies and site data. You can usually control first-party and third-party cookies separately. Blocking all cookies or deleting site data may sign you out, erase local recent games, reset reactions, or prevent embedded games from functioning. Consult your browser’s help pages for the exact controls.
Updates and contact
We may update this policy when our storage practices or platform features change. For questions, email contact@kickergames.com. More information about our handling of personal information is available in the Privacy Policy.
